Every part of our body has a different purpose; Just like in the flower! 


Let's learn about each part..

1. Pistil-the  female parts of the flower, consisting of the stigma, ovary and the style
Stigmasticky portion at the top of the style where pollen grains usually land
Style-  the narrow elongated part of the pistil between the ovary and the stigma, grows pollen tube
Ovary- contains ovules; after fertilisation, the ovary swells to produce fruit
2. Stamenmale part of the flower, made up of anther and filament
Filamentsupports anther to make it accessible to insects
Anther-  produces male gametes - pollen
3. Pollen Tubemale gamete - contains half the genetic information for the production of a new plant
4. OvuleIn seed plants, the female reproductive part that produces the gamete - egg
5. Petalbrightly coloured, attract insects
6. Sepalexternal covering of flower bud
7. Reciptacle-  thickened part of the stem from which the organs grow
8. Pedicil-  stem that supports a single flower and transports food and water

Flowersimportance in nature is everywhere—they can feed insects, birds, animals and humans; provide natural medicines for humans and some animals and many more!

Without flowers, plants would merely be green, and the world would be a duller place.
